North West Got a Front-Row View of Kim Kardashian Posing in Her Pearl-Adorned Dress at the 2023 Met Gala
So much for a Met Gala sans Kardashians; this year, even the next generation of Kardashians got a close-up look at the red carpet.
Reality star Kim Kardashian stepped out for the New York fashion event with her daughter, North West. Kardashian walked the red carpet solo, while North, Kardashian told Vogue on the red carpet, “is actually in the car watching us all walk up the red carpet.”
North and Kardashian were photographed leaving their hotel together though:
Kardashian kept her dress in line with the evening’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme. With her hair in a loose updo, Kardashian wore a sheer threaded taupe gown adorned with real pearl strings, while West matched in a taupe suit jacket and blue jeans.
Kardashian told Vogue of her red carpet look, “This year I just wanted to feel glamorous. I really didn’t feel the pressure.” She added that she connected pearls with Lagerfeld and wanted to be dripping in them on the red carpet. Her look was designed by Schiaparelli.
Kardashian’s appearance at the Met Gala comes after the entrepreneur got attention for wearing a transparent suit to her Time 100 Summit talk the week previously, also in New York City. Kardashian paired it with a bandeau top and matching heels. She wore her hair up.
At the event, Kardashian spoke about how she would be fine giving up her reality TV career to just practice law full time. Kardashian is currently doing a law apprenticeship, which is a route in California where she can become a lawyer without attending law school or even finishing a college degree. She said during her Time 100 talk that she intends to take the bar in February 2025.
Of her own future, she quipped, “I joke with my mom [Kris Jenner]—who’s my manager—I say, ‘Kim K is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney. So you can go help my siblings so you can still have a job.’”
“I would be just as happy being an attorney full-time and doing that,” she added. “The journey just really opened up my eyes to so much. It gets overwhelming because there’s so much to be done… I would totally spend more time doing that—cameras, no cameras.”
