Seahawks have the biggest disadvantage in the NFL this year

The Seattle Seahawks defied the odds last year by making it to the playoffs. This upcoming season, they will have to overcome a huge obstacle to do so.

Prior to the start of last season, the Seattle Seahawks were expected to be one of the worst teams in football, considering the fact that they traded starting quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Instead, they shocked the world by clinching the last Wild Card spot in the NFC with a 9-8 record. This offseason, they have built off of it by re-signing Geno Smith, bringing back Bobby Wagner, and putting together one of the better draft classes in the NFL.

But as it turns out, the Seahawks are facing a disadvantage heading into the upcoming season. And it involves their schedule.

According to Bookies.com senior betting analyst Bill Speros, the Seahawks are expected to have the most total travel mileage out of any team with 31,600.

Seahawks set to travel the most out of any NFL team in 2023

As the NFL world awaits for what each team’s full schedule will be for the upcoming season, opponents are already known. Here are the opponents the Seahawks are set to face on the road:

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Detroit Lions
  • Tennessee Titans

As you can see, Seattle goes on the road to face off their divisional opponents in the Cardinals, Rams and 49ers. But they do have to travel to far for games against the Giants, Titans, Ravens and Bengals.

The Seahawks are not set to play in an international game this season. They did last year, where they faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Munich, Germany.

NFL schedules are set to be revealed by 8:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 11. But, there could be some dates and times for specific games that get leaked beforehand.
