Selling Sunset Season 7: Everything We Know So Far
The sixth season of Selling Sunset brought so many surprises, from Chrishell Stause’s feud with new cast member Nicole Young to Chelsea Lazkani’s ongoing beef with Bre Tiesi. If you’ve already binged through all the new episodes, you’ll be relieved to know that the show has already been renewed for another season. Here’s everything we know about Selling Sunset season 7 so far.
When will season 7 be released?
In June 2022, Netflix renewed Selling Sunset for seasons 6 and 7, much to the delight of fans everywhere. Season 6 was released on the streaming platform on May 19, and although season 7 doesn’t have a release date as yet, filming is already underway. During an interview with E! News in March 2023, Heather Rae El Moussa revealed, “Season 7 is filming right now, but I’ve been off maternity leave and I’ve been excited to get back to work.”
Also in March 2023, Chrishell Stause suggested that she wasn’t having the best time while filming new episodes of Selling Sunset. Per Us Weekly, the realtor shared an Instagram Story in which she wrote, “The way reality TV producers manipulate things to create a narrative… Sucks to not be able to be proud of what you’re working on.” She completed the post by tagging the production company responsible for Selling Sunset, along with a slew of trash can and snake emojis.
Which cast members are returning for season 7?
Regular cast members Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Jason and Brett Oppenheim, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Heather Rae El Moussa, as well as new agents Nicole Young and Bre Tiesi, are all expected to return for season 7 of Selling Sunset. Jason has since moved in with his new girlfriend, Marie Lou Nurk, so it seems likely she will be back for future episodes, too. Young has already shared some highlights from her time filming season 7 on Instagram.
Davina Potratz and Maya Vander only made very brief appearances in the show’s sixth season, so it’s currently unclear if they’ll be back for future episodes. As for Christine Quinn, she’s most definitely done with Selling Sunset after telling Entertainment Weekly, “I would never come back in a million years. But that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna do TV anymore.”
Is Heather coming back?
While speaking with E! News in March 2023, Heather Rae El Moussa expressed concern that she hadn’t been asked to film any scenes for the show’s seventh season yet. “And so far, I’ve not been called back,” she told the outlet. “It’s been a little frustrating… So, not sure what’s been going on.”
In August 2022, Brett Oppenheim seemed to suggest that El Moussa’s new HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, might interfere with her future on Selling Sunset at some point. “I think it’s TBD,” Brett told E! News. “I think for now she’s able to do both.” Jason also weighed in on El Moussa’s future on the show, saying, “I don’t get involved in the futures of the agents… I know she’s still going to be at The Oppenheim Group. I think that’s with her and production and Netflix and all that.”
Will Chrishell Stause’s wedding be in the show?
After Chrishell Stause and G Flip revealed that they’d tied the knot in Las Vegas, everyone was wondering whether Selling Sunset might feature their wedding in future episodes. However, Stause quickly shot down the idea of having a televised wedding, telling Entertainment Tonight that they wanted to “keep some stuff to ourselves.”
What will Selling Sunset season 7 be about?
Season 6 features some huge arguments between new agent Nicole Young and Chrishell Stause. After Stause suggested that Young was on drugs during the group’s trip to Palm Springs, Young immediately went to get a drug test to prove that she hadn’t taken any illegal substances. She was also seen consulting with a lawyer, suggesting that her disagreement with Stause might be taken further in season 7.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Stause suggested that Young’s behavior was purely for the cameras, saying, “It’s an old playbook. I’ve seen it before. I’ve dealt with it before. You’re coming at me, that didn’t work, and now all of a sudden you’re the victim that’s going to act like you’re getting bullied.” As for how the storyline will unravel in season 7, fans will just have to wait and see.
Ongoing drama between Bre Tiesi and Chelsea Lazkani was also not resolved in season 6, with Lazkani continually expressing disapproval over Tiesi’s relationship with Nick Cannon. As a result, tension between the pair will probably continue into season 7. Basically, the next season of Selling Sunset can’t come soon enough.
