All the Easter Eggs From Taylor Swift's 'I Can See You' Music Video

A new Taylor Swift video, a new carton of East Eggs to open in every shot. Her video for “Taylor Swift – I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” was released on Friday, and while it features Swift in a literal vault, many viewers believe the video is really about the next re-record album Swift will be doing. But is it 1989 or Reputation?

The video stars Swift, Joey King, Presley Cash, and Taylor Lautner. King and Cash appeared in the video for “Mean” when they were children, and Swift wrote in an Instagram post how glad she was that they were coming back to one of her properties.

And in the video King stops to check out her old costume from a long line of Eras costumes.

Lautner and Swift dated, of course, and have remained friends, which isn’t something that all of Swift’s former boyfriends can say. Many of them have been referenced in her music, but Lautner has said he feels “safe” in regards to her ex’s music.

“I think it’s a great album,” he told TODAY.com of Speak Now. “Yeah, I feel safe.”

Here are the Easter Eggs fans have already picked up on in the video.

1989 is next

The video has imagery reminiscent of 1989‘s songs, like a close up of Swift’s red lips from “Style.”

And at the end of the video, as the quartet make their getaway from the exploding museum/vault, they drive to a bridge with a sign reading “1989 TV.”

Or is Reputation next?

The red lips, however, could also be a reference to “Look What You Made Me Do” on Reputation.

And a shot of King breaking Swift out of her vault prison looks similar to a shot in that music video as well.

Plus, she seems to have black nail polish and the vault is Reputation iconography.

Off Screen Egg

On July 7, Swift shared an Instagram post with some of her “girl squad,” including Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters, who showed up in her iconic video “Bad Blood,” and in the carousel were a number of throwback Polaroids. Just like Swift’s album cover for 1989.

“Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighbourhood independent girlies,” she wrote in the caption.

Other guest stars

Some fans thought that with Lautner’s appearance, other past boyfriends of Swift might get pulled into a video.Someone out there even believes Harry Styles might be in a future 1989 video.
