Jennifer Lopez Shared a Makeup-Free Video of Her Skin at 54: ‘No Filter. ALL. ME.’
Jennifer Lopez got attention over the weekend for going out to karaoke (and singing her own songs) in a silver minidress at Capri, Italy’s Anema e Core tavern. She ended up leaving at 1:30 A.M. Sunday.
The singer went back to business Monday morning and showed a deliberately stripped-down, makeup-free version of herself on Instagram to promote her skincare products for JLo Beauty. “No filter. ALL. ME. #ThisIsMeNow at 54, glowing and happy @JLoBeauty,” she captioned her skincare tutorial video.
Lopez spoke candidly to ELLE.com in December 2020 about how she handles comments about her skin and age. “You never want to hear you look great for 50,” she began, adding that people “want to just hear you look great, no matter what age you are. And for me and for the company, that is a big part of it. We don’t want people going, you look great for 60, 50, 40, 35. You want people to just go, wow, you look amazing. That’s part of our goal—to help everybody feel they look amazing no matter what age they are, so we don’t have to hear about that so much. It doesn’t become such a big deal. Oh my God, she’s 50.’ It’s like, does it matter? You’re just your best self, no matter what.”
She also shared the daily affirmation she uses to keep herself feeling youthful: “Every day, I say I am youthful and timeless at every age. I live a beautiful adventurous life with my children, and we’re all in perfect health, always. All of these great things you learn to say to yourself so there’s this positive self-talk in your head really does create a beautiful person on the inside who maintains a beautiful person on the outside.”
