Follow live: Two rushing TDs give Lions control of NFC Championship Game

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Detroit Lions 34-31 in the NFC Championship Game to meet the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.

Detroit opened its second conference championship appearance by scoring two unanswered touchdowns and held a 24-7 lead at halftime.

Then, it was all San Francisco in the second half.

Within eight minutes, a field goal by Jake Moody, touchdown catch by Brandon Aiyuk and rushing touchdown by Christian McCaffrey tied the game in the third quarter.

The 49ers had their first lead of the game with 9:52 remaining in the fourth and never relinquished it, despite Jameson Williams‘ late touchdown that brought the Lions within three points.
