Millennials roasted as they refuse to make 'big purchases on small screens' – The Mirror
The internet is teasing Millennials once again after one woman declared she refuses to make any ‘big purchases’ on her phone – arguing paying for flights or hotels is a ‘laptop job’
Brits have found a new way to rinse Millennials, and it's nothing to do with their penchant for skinny jeans.
Also known as Generation Y, Millenials are typically defined as those born between 1981 to 1996 (42-28 year-olds). They're the MySpace generation, the can't-afford-a-house generation, the avocado toast-obsessed generation – and both boomers and Gen X love to tease them on a daily basis.
The internet has now found something else to ridicule Millennials over – and it all comes down to when you should put your phone down and get the laptop out – but Gen Y insist they're in the right…
Taking to TikTok, Jennie Longdon expressed her concern over making big purchases such as a hotel or flight using a phone – arguing that spending large amounts of money online should always be done on a laptop. "Millennials, why can we not make a big purchase on our phones? Takeaway, clothes, shoes, within reason – yeah – But a plane ticket? On your phone?" she says, pretending to be sick.
"That's a laptop job. A holiday? You can't book a holiday on your phone – that's a laptop job. Big purchases, you gotta get the laptop out – why are we like this? I don't know. We cannot make a big or significant purchase on the phone – no. You can't browse properly."

Swathes of millennials flocked to the comments to share their thoughts – with many agreeing they have never 'related to something more' in their entire life. "Big purchase requires the big internet," one user joked.
Another wrote: "I'm scared there is important information I won't see on a small screen," while a third added: "For big purchases, I do my research. I can't be asked to have multiple tabs open on my phone. [I] NEED A LAPTOP."
Many users even warned of the potential horrors of booking your holiday on a phone – arguing they'll never try the Gen Z way again. "I booked a mini break on my phone once and I accidentally refreshed the page with my thumb midway through booking," one millennial wrote. "Hotel rang me that night [asking] 'where are you?'. The form had refreshed and reverted to today's date and I wasn't entitled to a refund. Never again, always a laptop or desktop from now on."
Another agreed, commenting: "I lived dangerously the other day and booked a hotel room on my phone. It took ages buffering at the confirmation screen and I was fuming. Knew I should've done it on my laptop."
