A Shrek-themed breakfast experience has sent social media into meltdown.
Users were left bewildered by a meal modelled on characters from the famous Dreamworks film, complete with avocado and mushrooms on toast crafted into the image of beloved characters Shrek and Donkey.
The mention of "Shrekfast" sparked a massive reaction on Twitter/X with over 50,000 likes. The accompanying caption read: "You ok, babe? You haven't even touched your Shrekfast."

The themed meal both baffled and delighted users. One said: "Just replace the shrooms with some turkey bacon on the ears, nose and chin of Donkey. Cream cheese to Shrek in the background, eyes, noseand mouth. Then feel free to send it over to my house."
However, not all reactions were appreciative. One user referred to the creation as a "cursed food," others were more impressed. One admiring comment read: "I have never wanted anything more in my life."
One disgruntled user expressed: "If someone gave me a piece of toast with that much mushrooms on it… we will actually fight," while another user jestingly claimed, "a bagel covered in mushrooms would be my 13th reason."
One user was torn, tweeting: "I both hate and love this," while another insisted true aficionados would know that "real fans know shrekfast should actually be waffles."
The first Shrek film was released in 2001, and the franchise has continued to delight users ever since. The films follow the adventures of Shrek and his companion Donkey, as well as Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad, and others.
