Giant baby Jesus statue in Mexican church 'looks just like British rockstar' – The Mirror

A snap taken in a Mexican church of a giant statue of Jesus Christ has caught the eye of several Reddit users, who compared his image to a member of an aptly-named rock band
A giant depiction of Jesus Christ in a church has caused a stir after his image was hilariously compared to a famous face from British rock.
In the snap shared to Reddit, a model of baby Jesus stands from floor to ceiling behind the altar inside the religious building in Mexico. Looking down on the congregation with his blue eyes and what appeared to be a receding hairline, Reddit users couldn't help but compare the son of God to Phil Collins.
Collins, who found fame as a drummer and later lead singer in the aptly-named band Genesis is now 73. At the height of his fame, however, he did indeed look strikingly similar in appearance to the religious statue in question.
"Jesus he knows me and he knows I'm right," one person declared, quoting the name of a famous Genesis track. "That Phil Collins baby Jesus is a tad bit off putting." A second pondered in jest: "Imagine being a Viking and sailing to England to plunder silver only to find a 15ft tall baby with the face of Phil Collins."
After several more Redditors posted snaps of the In The Air Tonight singer in tribute, a third person simply penned: "That's Phil Collins." While a fourth parodied a bible verse: "Take a good look at me now, 'cause I’ll still be standin' here, and you comin’ back to me is against all odds, it’s the chance I’ve gotta take – Collins 3:16."
Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) was another famous hit for Collins in 1984. Others in the comments section, meanwhile, compared the baby Jesus to a number of other famous faces.
Those included Frodo Baggins from The Lord Of The Rings, actor Nicholas Cage and Fire Lord Ozai from the animated Avatar series, The Last Airbender..
