Flex and superflex rankings for Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season and our weekly PPR fantasy football superflex rankings. We know many of you compete in superflex formats that invite/covet second quarterbacks in starting lineups, so these rankings account for that. It might look odd to see the lowest-ranked fantasy passers ahead of typical RB2 and WR2 options, but the potential scoring impact demands it. If your league is of the standard flex variety, just ignore the presence of quarterbacks. Regardless, good luck this week!

1. Jayden Daniels, Commanders (QB1): Fantasy’s top QB so far is not playing like a rookie, so don’t be scared of the Browns matchup.

2. Lamar Jackson, Ravens (QB2): Eight running backs have more rushing yards than Jackson. That’s it. Eight.

3. Josh Allen, Bills (QB3): Two great fantasy games and two in single digits. Consistency would be nice.

4. Jordan Love, Packers (QB4): He was a bit reckless with some of his Week 4 passes, but nobody in fantasy complained.

5. CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (WR1): Showed in Week 4 that he can finish as the top WR yet again. No worries here.

6. Nico Collins, Texans (WR2): Then again, Collins is on pace for more than 2,000 receiving yards. We approve.

7. Justin Jefferson, Vikings (WR3): And you were worried about the new Vikings QB. Ha! Jefferson is dominant again.

8. Jordan Mason, 49ers (RB1): Speaking of dominant, the only thing keeping Mason from a top-five fantasy season may be Christian McCaffrey.

9. Kyren Williams, Rams (RB2): There is no sharing in this backfield. Williams is getting 80% of the rushing attempts.

10. Alvin Kamara, Saints (RB3): Even as the team’s passing game struggles, Kamara is getting his major numbers.

11. Jonathan Taylor, Colts (RB4)

12. Derrick Henry, Ravens (RB5)

13. Brock Purdy, 49ers (QB5)

14. Joe Burrow, Bengals (QB6)

15. Dak Prescott, Cowboys (QB7): A challenging matchup in Pittsburgh awaits, but you know the Cowboys have to throw the football.

16. Malik Nabers, Giants (WR4): He is on pace for 221 targets. That would be astounding. What other choice do the Giants have?

17. Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals (WR5): Only six targets per game is not what fantasy managers had in mind. C’mon, Joe Burrow.

18. Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals (WR6): Don’t overthink it for a road game in San Francisco. The 49ers are getting thrown on.

19. Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks (RB6): Just when you want to be angry with him for missing games, he scores three touchdowns. Play him.

20. Aaron Jones, Vikings (RB7): He got his revenge in Lambeau Field. Plenty of volume here the past two weeks.

21. Breece Hall, Jets (RB8): Week 4 wasn’t his best, but we assume he bounces back. If not, a rookie awaits his chance.

22. Bijan Robinson, Falcons (RB9): Slowed by a hamstring injury but expected to play. Can we expect more touches? That’s another issue.

23. DK Metcalf, Seahawks (WR7)

24. Deebo Samuel Sr., 49ers (WR8)

25. Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers (QB8)

26. Justin Fields, Steelers (QB9): Played so well in Week 4, and now he gets Dallas. A QB change in Pittsburgh still may be coming, but not this week.

27. Sam Darnold, Vikings (QB10): Perhaps he will not throw more than 40 touchdown passes, as is the pace, but you cannot ignore him.

28. C.J. Stroud, Texans (QB11): These are not his rookie numbers, but really, there’s nothing to worry about yet.

29. Kyler Murray, Cardinals (QB12): Rough game against the Commanders, and now it is San Fran. He has to run more to get his numbers.

30. Geno Smith, Seahawks (QB13)

31. Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders (RB10)

32. Joe Mixon, Texans (RB11)

33. James Cook, Bills (RB12)

34. Josh Jacobs, Packers (RB13): Only nine rushing attempts versus the Vikings, but game flow (down 28-0) dictated that. He’ll be fine.

35. De’Von Achane, Dolphins (RB14): It’s hard to trust any Dolphins right now with their QB situation. Don’t force Achane into lineups.

36. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (QB14): Nobody seems to want to hear it, but these are not top-10 QB numbers anymore. Who will he throw to?

37. Anthony Richardson, Colts (QB15): Left another game prematurely with an injury, just adding to the risk. He wasn’t playing well to start with.

38. Mike Evans, Buccaneers (WR9)

39. Chris Godwin, Buccaneers (WR10)

40. Drake London, Falcons (WR11)

41. Diontae Johnson, Panthers (WR12): Has 27 targets the past two weeks, after getting 12 the first two games. The QB change meant everything here.

42. Chris Olave, Saints (WR13): More than 80 receiving yards in three consecutive weeks. The targets are there.

43. Stefon Diggs, Texans (WR14): Bump him up a bit if you believe he gets more targets in a revenge game against the Bills.

44. Jayden Reed, Packers (WR15): Love returned from injury and Reed had his second monster game with him.

45. Daniel Jones, Giants (QB16): It’s hard to believe this fellow ran for 708 yards and 7 scores two years ago. He’s not doing that now.

46. Kirk Cousins, Falcons (QB17): Perhaps this week he finally throws for 250 yards. He used to do this routinely.

47. Deshaun Watson, Browns (QB18): Perhaps this week he finally throws for 200 yards. Yeah, it is not going well.

48. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars (QB19): Don’t even look at his numbers. Still, struggling QBs tend to score double-digit fantasy points.

49. Chuba Hubbard, Panthers (RB15)

50. D’Andre Swift, Bears (RB16)

51. Caleb Williams, Bears (QB20)

52. Aaron Rodgers, Jets (QB21): One decent performance out of four is not what everyone expected.

53. Matthew Stafford, Rams (QB22): The earliest he can get his top receivers back is Week 7. Perhaps wait until then to activate Stafford.

54. George Pickens, Steelers (WR16): Bumped up a bit this week because the Steelers host the struggling Cowboys.

55. DJ Moore, Bears (WR17): Home games against the Panthers and Jaguars await. It’s a good time to trade for Moore.

56. Garrett Wilson, Jets (WR18): The targets are there, but his QB must play better. Wilson can only do so much.

57. Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers (WR19): He hasn’t hit 50 receiving yards in any games yet. We are running out of patience.

58. Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (WR20): He has 10 catches for 87 yards in the past three games. That used to be one game for him. You don’t have to play him.

59. Travis Etienne Jr., Jaguars (RB17)

60. Najee Harris, Steelers (RB18)

61. James Conner, Cardinals (RB19): Touchdowns in three of four games, but next to nothing in the passing game.

62. Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots (RB20): Great the first two games, not much since then. The team has to feature him versus the Dolphins.

63. Javonte Williams, Broncos (RB21): He ran well in the second half against the Jets. Perhaps it was a harbinger of better days ahead. Don’t drop him yet.

64. Andy Dalton, Panthers (QB23): You didn’t think he was going to throw for 319 yards and 3 scores every week, did you?

65. Bo Nix, Broncos (QB24)

66. Derek Carr, Saints (QB25)

67. Tyler Huntley, Dolphins (QB26): He threw for 96 yards on Monday night. That’s it. This offense is in big, big trouble.

68. Terry McLaurin, Commanders (WR21): His usage has been a bit erratic, but it’s hard to question his QB or the game plan.

69. Davante Adams, Raiders (WR22): He wants to be elsewhere, so even if he does suit up this week, there are no guarantees of production.

70. Zay Flowers, Ravens (WR23): Only 30 receiving yards the past two games, but figure that Jackson will throw on the Bengals.

71. Trey McBride, Cardinals (TE1): This is how bad things are at TE. McBride didn’t play last week, he faces the 49ers … and he’s first!

72. Travis Kelce, Chiefs (TE2)

73. George Kittle, 49ers (TE3)

74. Zack Moss, Bengals (RB22): Ample volume and touchdowns in three of four games. Perhaps both Bengals RBs can thrive.

75. Kareem Hunt, Chiefs (RB23): Maybe he doesn’t get 16 touches every week, but for now, he’s the KC back you want.

76. Jerome Ford, Browns (RB24): Solid matchups the next two games, but, at some point, Nick Chubb will return.

77. Rachaad White, Buccaneers (RB25): He looked better in Week 4, and the Bucs continue to give him opportunity.

78. Bucky Irving, Buccaneers (RB26)

79. Chase Brown, Bengals (RB27)

80. Gardner Minshew, Raiders (QB27)

81. Jacoby Brissett, Patriots (QB28)

82. Amari Cooper, Browns (WR24)
