Mark Cuban admits defeat to Donald Trump and Elon Musk

Kamala Harris’s billionaire surrogate Mark Cuban just conceded to Donald Trump, and his billionaire backer Elon Musk.

“Congrats … You won fair and square,” he said, tagging Trump. He congratulated and tagged Musk, too.

Trump has won two battleground states, North Carolina and Georgia, and the path to victory for Harris is narrower. But the election hasn’t been called by the AP. And Harris has not conceded.

The two billionaires have arguably been their presidential picks’ most vocal supporters, appearing on the campaign trail, conducting interviews, and posting their opinions to social media. Cuban hasn’t donated any money to elect Harris, but Musk has.

On an earlier occasion, Cuban said the race was basically between Harris and Musk, not Trump. “Elon is running the ground game for the Republicans. And that is really what the race is all about the last two weeks,” Cuban previously said in a statement to Fortune

Earlier this evening, Cuban posted that he was FaceTiming students waiting in long lines to vote, but it appears to have been deleted. Meanwhile, Musk is pretty much taking a victory lap. On X, he posted: “The people of America gave,” Trump, “a crystal clear mandate for change tonight.” Musk posted an edited image of him carrying a sink in the Oval Office, a flashback of sorts to when he purchased Twitter.

Musk’s super PAC also declared victory for Trump early, posting a message to X saying, “Trump has won the 2024 Election.”
