A chick that miraculously survived being swallowed by a man who wasn’t quite so lucky, a possible Bigfoot photo from Navajo Nation, and a highway phantom menacing motorists in Nebraska were among the weird and wondrous stories to cross our desk this past week.
A particularly creepy story unfolded in Nebraska this past week as multiple motorists reported being offered help by the same mysterious man moments after they were in weird car accidents. Two separate couples, who happen to be friends, made the connection after they both encountered the proverbial highway phantom following mishaps involving a sizeable object that had been left in the middle of the road. Believing that the man may be behind the accidents, they alerted the police and local media. Chillingly, the TV station that reported on their story subsequently received an eerie phone call from the phantom wherein he pretended to be one of the people featured on the segment and asked that they stop covering the case.

This past week saw a fantastic photo of what some suspect is a Sasquatch clambering up a rocky cliff on the Navajo Nation. The intriguing image circulated on social media for several days before an individual claiming to be the nephew of the witness came forward with their account of the sighting. According to them, the woman spotted the Sasquatch after hearing a peculiar noise coming from a nearby canyon. Stunned and shaken by what she was seeing, the witness quickly snapped a photo and fled the scene. While some believe the anomaly in the picture is a genuine Bigfoot, others argue that the ‘creature’ may simply be a case of pareidolia at work.

By far the strangest story of the week came by way of India, where a man died after swallowing a live chick that miraculously managed to survive the unsettling ordeal. The curious case was uncovered when doctors were performing an autopsy on Anand Yadav, who had passed away from asphyxiation. Upon cutting into his neck, they were stunned to find the baby bird, which was no worse for wear from the experience. It was later learned that Yadav had swallowed the chick as part of a fertility ritual that had clearly gone wildly awry. As for the bird, it is uncertain what became of the animal, though one hopes it was reunited with its family having quite the tale to tell.
