Ravens kicker Justin Tucker had a chance to set a new NFL record for longest field goal ever with a game-winning attempt vs. the Jaguars. He was just short.

Justin Tucker already owns the NFL record for longest field goal in league history. On Sunday against the Jaguars, he had a chance to break his record and win the game for the Ravens.

Tucker’s attempt as time expired was from 67 yards out. It would have spoiled Jacksonville’s upset party after Trevor Lawrence hit Marvin Jones Jr. for a touchdown with 14 seconds left and then put his team ahead with a two-point conversion to Zay Jones.

He was barely, just barely, short.

Tucker is money 99 percent of the time. He was almost on the money this time. But almost only counts in horseshoes, not NFL games.

After giving up a touchdown with 14 seconds left, it would have been a bit of a miracle for Baltimore to even get a shot at winning the game.

A 15-yard kickoff return got Lamar Jackson the ball at the 39-yard line and he completed a quick 12-yard pass to set Tucker up at the Jacksonville 49. From there, Tucker tried and missed short.

The Jaguars upset made the Bengals the big winners of the afternoon. Baltimore fell to 7-4, allowing Cincinnati to tie their record with their win over the Titans. The battle for the AFC North is now on despite the Bengals losing three of their first five games.

Tucker set the NFL record for the longest field goal at 66 yards in 2021 against the Detroit Lions.

He made kicks from 27, 29, 55 and 24 yards during Sunday’s loss, so no one can blame him for that loss.
