John Harbaugh begs Lamar Jackson, Ravens to stay off social media

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been the center of controversy online, and coach John Harbaugh is pleading for him to stay off social media.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is drawing attention to himself online for all the wrong reasons as he created a controversial response to a fan on Twitter.

Coach John Harbaugh shared his thoughts on the matter, stating, “[We] beg guys not to get into the Twitter world right after games, especially after a loss. It’s never gonna be positive. It’s not gonna be a nice place & I think that’s reflected in Lamar’s response bc what he said is so out of character.”

He further went on to defend Jackson and say he “has one of the biggest hearts of anybody” he knows.

Jackson’s comment will certainly be tough to come back from, but he’s attempted to by tweeting ESPN reporter Jamison Henley to tell him that his article is “defamation of character.”

This isn’t the first time Jackson has acted out online, and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be the last time.

Over the summer, Jackson stirred up discussion with a photo he posted on Instagram and Twitter saying, “I need money.” Many saw this as a shot at the Ravens as there were talks of a contract extension happening.

This wasn’t nearly as bad as when he responded to the fan on Sunday, and it was quite comical to many. However, it does show his personality as someone who doesn’t hold back their thoughts.

Jackson certainly crossed a line in a time of anger, and had he stayed off of social media while decompressing, it all could’ve been avoided.

He didn’t follow Harbaugh’s advice, and now he has a deep hole to dig himself out of.
