3 huge Chiefs concerns after barely surviving lowly Texans
The Chiefs clinched the AFC West with their overtime win over the Texans, but another struggle-fest highlighted some major concerns for Kansas City.
The city of Kansas City had to let out a collective, “PHEW,” as the Chiefs got away with a tight one against the Texans.
It took overtime, Frank Clark forcing a huge fumble and Jerick McKinnon breaking a 26-yard touchdown to give the Chiefs the 30-24 victory over a team that had won just one game all season.
This is the second-straight week KC toyed with disaster against one of the worst teams in the league. If last week wasn’t a wake-up call, this one should be.

No. 3: Patrick Mahomes had to be perfect…against the Texans
It’s possible Chiefs fans witnessed the most perfect performance Patrick Mahomes will produce this season.
Mahomes completed 19 straight passes to end the game, which Next Gen Stats pointed out had a probability of 0.8 percent.
He only had five incompletions all game, which is ridiculous for a quarterback who attempted 41 passes. He threw three touchdowns, including one rushing. He didn’t turn the ball over and finished with a quarterback rating of 117.1.
The problem is he needed that performance to beat Houston. He needed to be perfect to beat the 1-12-1 Texans.
Mahomes is capable of incredible things. There’s no question about that. But when a team relies on magic like that from the quarterback in what should have been one of the more routine wins of the season, that’s a problem.
