Julian Edelman throws Boston hat in disgust after Patriots terrible loss (Video)

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman threw his hat in frustration after watching the team lose to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.

The New England Patriots may not have blown a 33-0 lead like the Indianapolis Colts did in Week 15, but they suffered quite a brutal loss. Facing off against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots received possession of the football with less than a minute remaining with the game tied 24-24. But, running back Rhamondre Stevenson pitched the football backwards to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers on the final play, who then attempted a lateral pass to quarterback Mac Jones. That throw was intercepted by Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones, who returned it for a touchdown.

Patriots fans were stunned, as were the team’s radio broadcasters. If you are a Patriots fan who was curious “what did former wide receiver Julian Edelman think of that play?” Well, here’s your answer. He was upset enough to rip off his Boston Red Sox hat and thew it to the ground.

Julian Edelman couldn’t believe Patriots’ costly final play vs. Raiders

“What the f*** are we doing? What are we doing,” Edelman asked.

As it turns out, the Patriots’ plan was to just run a draw play to run out the clock. Meyers said as such, telling the media that it was his decision to lateral the football and that he was “trying to make a play.” Meyers was very accountable after the game, immediately taking questions from media members after the tough loss.

Stevenson also took responsibility after the game, saying that he should not have pitched the football back to Meyers, and that he should have went down with the football instead.

Down 17-16 with under four minutes remaining, the Patriots were able to take the lead on a 34-yard run by Stevenson. But, the Raiders were able to tie the game up with just 32-seconds remaining on a 30-yard pass from Derek Carr to wide receiver Keelan Cole.

Then, the aforementioned final play of the game happened. That knocked the Patriots out of a Wild Card spot and will have to find a way to sneak into the playoffs. That could be tough, as they face the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo Bills to close out the regular-season.

For Patriots fans who were wondering what the team was thinking, Edelman was asking the same question.
