Raiders radio call invokes Hanukkah miracle after improbable win over Patriots (Video)
The Las Vegas Raiders pulled off arguably one of the more improbable wins in NFL history, picking off a lateral to defeat the New England Patriots.
As one would imagine, the Las Vegas Raiders radio call courtesy of Jason Horowitz was just as impressive.
The greater the moment, the better the radio call. That’s the staple of the industry, as the calls are rarely as memorable for moments we all see coming. With just seconds remaining in regulation in Las Vegas on Sunday, few saw a victory in the cards, unless that win were to occur in overtime.
Yet, Jakobi Meyers knew better than all of us. Meyers attempted a lateral across the field to his quarterback Mac Jones. That did not go according to plan, as Chandler Jones of Vegas made a play and returned said lateral attempt for a touchdown.
The radio call was fitting, given this is the first day of Hanukkah.

Raiders hold off postseason doom for another week
Las Vegas isn’t necessarily a playoff contender, but the Raiders remain in the hunt, per say, for another week. With the win, the Raiders now have a 6-8 overall record, which is two games behind the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers for the final AFC postseason spots.
New England’s loss, meanwhile, puts them in an even tougher spot just a game behind Miami and LA.
Coming into the week, fans in Vegas thought there was a better chance the team fires Josh McDaniels or trades Derek Carr than make the postseason. Yet, here we are, and the Raiders remain alive.
Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up, of course. Enjoy the miracle and its unique place in NFL history. Nearly 50 years after the Raiders were on the receiving end of the Immaculate Reception, Las Vegas now plays the role of the benefactor.
