Top NFL picks and predictions for Sunday’s Wild Card games

NFL Wild Card Weekend is here so it’s time to place our bets.

Sunday should be an action-packed slate with three games scheduled to take place.

The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins will kick things off on Sunday at 1pm et. That game will be followed by an NFC showdown between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings starting at 4:30pm et. The Sunday night game will be an AFC North matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.

NFL Wild Card Sunday picks

Dolphins vs. Bills picks

Dolphins +13.5

The line opened for this game at -10.5 in favor of the Bills, but once it was officially announced that Skylar Thompson would be the starting quarterback, the line has inflated to -13.5. That, in my opinion, is a complete overreaction to the news.

The Dolphins defense is tied for first in opponent yards per play over their last three games. Not only is Miami’s defense playing the best it has been all season, but the Bills have some red flags. Mainly, they turn the ball over a ton. In fact, they average 1.7 giveaways per game which was the second most in the NFL in the regular season.

It’s hard enough to cover a 13.5-point spread, but it’s near impossible when you turn the ball over.

Give me the Dolphins to cover this number.

Giants vs. Vikings picks

Giants +3

Our very own Josh Yourish is backing the Giants to at least keep this game close. You can read his full breakdown in his betting preview here.

Let’s take a peak at a snippet from his breakdown:

“Daniel Jones has been very good this year, he’s a different guy with Brian Daboll, and he looked awesome against Minnesota three weeks ago. In that game, Minnesota won, but New York gained nearly 100 more yards. It’s time for Minnesota’s shamrock and horseshoe powered season to come to an end.”

KJ Osborn OVER 40.5 receiving yards

KJ Osborn is the secret weapon for the Minnesota Vikings. He has surpassed this number in three of his last four games, while surpassing 100 yards in two of those contests.

In the final stretch of the season, teams were double-teaming Justin Jefferson, which opened things up for Osborn. If the Giants follow the same game plan, Osborn is set up for another big game.

Ravens vs. Bengals picks

Ravens +10

Reed Wallach is looking to back the Ravens to cover the spread in this AFC North matchup. He broke down his pick in his betting preview this week, which you can read here.

This is a portion of what he had to say:

“What was most interesting is the Bengals’ offense was limited in the game, averaging four yards per play and less than three yards per carry. Maybe some of that was game script considering Cincinnati got out to a 17-0 lead, but it’s worth noting Baltimore limited the Bengals’ offense to 17 points and less than five yards per play in the first meeting as well.”

Ja’Marr Chase OVER 6.5 receptions

Ja’Marr Chase has been on an absolute tear lately. He has surpassed 6.5 catches in eight straight games. The last time he failed to reach this number was Week 4 against the Dolphins. So, we’re able to get over 6.5 receptions at plus-money? Yes, please.

The Ravens give up 23.2 completions per game which ranks 26th in the NFL. Chase is going to eat on Wild Card Weekend.
