Cryptic Derek Carr tweet implies there was more to the story with Raiders exit

There may be more to the story when it comes to Derek Carr’s Las Vegas Raiders breakup.

Shoot to thrill, tea to spill, as Derek Carr hinted there is more to his Las Vegas Raiders exit saga…

Carr had been the face of the franchise since being drafted out of Fresno State in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The Silver and Black have a proud history, but have also been one of the most chaotic organizations in the NFL throughout the 21st century. Carr was responsible for two of the three playoff teams the Raiders have had since 2002. Sadly, his time with them is ending…

While Carr appreciates everyone and their brother offering him up their platform to speak on the matter, the star quarterback left a breadcrumb in this tweet, suggesting there is more to the story.

In time, the truth will come out, but Carr has played his final down for the only team he has known.

Derek Carr hints there is more to his Las Vegas Raiders exit than you would think

Though Carr said previously that he would only play for the Raiders, who saw it hitting the fan for him after year nine in the league? The Silver and Black were a playoff team in 2021 with an interim head coach. With great expectations, the Raiders went 6-11 behind their new head coach Josh McDaniels, including a most embarrassing loss to Jeff Saturday and the hapless Indianapolis Colts.

Has Carr’s reputation taking a ding? Yes, but he will have plenty of suitors on the trade market. Seemingly every franchise in the NFC South could use him, as could the New York Jets, maybe the Houston Texans or quite possibly, the Baltimore Ravens if things keep getting weirder when it comes to Lamar Jackson. Regardless, Carr is in his early 30s and has plenty still left in the tank.

Frankly, this stinks that it did not work out with Carr in Las Vegas. He had been a bastion of stability for an organization that has been the antithesis of that. Who knows how bad they would have been without him? For now, Carr must pick up the pieces and move on. It does not serve him to air out dirty laundry at this time in his life. The best thing he can do is … just win, baby?! Yeah…

It may not be entirely up to him, but Carr landing with a better-run franchise will do him wonders.
