Why Jennifer Garner Isn’t Ready to Marry John Miller After 4 Years of Dating
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may have tied the knot after a little more than a year of dating (again), but Jennifer Garner isn’t rushing down the aisle with her boyfriend of over four years, John Miller. A source explained to Us Weekly that while Garner is very committed to Miller, she is a little more reluctant to jump into another marriage. Affleck and Garner were married for 10 years, separating in 2015. Their divorce was finalized in 2018. Prior to that, Garner was married to Scott Foley from 2000 to 2004.
Garner is very serious about Miller despite this, the source explained: “Jennifer adores John and still sees a long-term future with him. There’s no desire on her part to slow things down, spend less time together or anything like that. She’s just decided after a lot of thought that she’s just not in a hurry to rush down the aisle just yet and that she feels perfectly happy cherishing and enjoying what they have—for now—without a formal label.”
Garner and Miller first started dating in 2018, taking a break in summer 2020 before getting back together nine months later. Part of their breakup was because Garner didn’t want to get married. “He was ready for marriage and she just couldn’t commit,” a source told Us Weekly in August 2020. “They parted on very amicable terms.” The two reconciled in spring 2021.
Us Weekly reported in April 2022 that their children met each other, and they started blending families a bit during Garner’s 50th birthday celebration.
“John’s kids finally met Jen’s kids,” the source said. “Lots of kids and family were invited, including John’s kids, his parents, his brother and his [brother’s] wife.” Miller has two children with ex-wife Caroline Campbell, while Garner shares her three children, 17-year-old Violet, 14-year-old Seraphina, and 10-year-old Samuel, with Affleck. The source described the first meeting as “casual and easy.”
