Is Davante Adams social media activity an Aaron Rodgers recruitment tactic?

Some Tweets and Instagram stories from Davante Adams have fans thinking he’s trying to get the Las Vegas Raiders to go after Aaron Rodgers.

Late on Wednesday night, some social media activity from Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams created a stir in the direction of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers that will have lots convinced Rodgers is on his way to Sin City.

Adams took to Twitter to tell his followers he would answer 15 questions. Through a series of quote-Tweets, he stuck to his word and gave his thoughts on a number of topics prompted by fans.

One of the first questions he answered asked which neighborhood Rodgers would be moving to. Adams replied, “Mine.”

If that wasn’t enough, Adams also posted a black-and-white video of him catching a pass from Aaron Rodgers on his Instagram story earlier in the day and captioned it “Literally.” with a shrugging emoji.

Firstly, Rodgers is technically not freely available. He’s under contract with the Packers next season, but reports and hints from Rodgers himself have indicated that the Packers are considering trading him.

Rodgers does not have a no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he will have a bit less say than other superstars over where he’s traded. He could, however, pull the “well, I’ll just retire card,” if he doesn’t like the destination Green Bay works out for him. It would behoove the Packers to play nice with Rodgers and his agent, David Dunn, throughout this process so as to keep themselves in the good graces of available free agent stars in the future.

As for the fit in Vegas, it’s pretty clear. Adams is a former teammate of his and a longtime No. 1 option for Rodgers. Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns last year, and could undoubtedly continue his strong play alongside Rodgers.

While some former teammates have said Rodgers isn’t fun to play with, Adams and Rodgers seem to get along better than most.

The Raiders appear prepared to move on from Derek Carr, so they’re in need of a quarterback, too.

Las Vegas feels like the destination to bank on at this point, but with Tom Brady out of the mix, the market for Rodgers gets more intense. Whether or not Adams’ social activity is trying to convince him to force his way over or hinting at anything, one can only guess.
