Chiefs roster has to clear unforeseen hurdle for Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs flu game? Ahead of Super Bowl 57, Chris Jones and Co. are dealing with an airborne virus, rather than an injury.

Chris Jones and several Kansas City Chiefs players have come down with a virus of some sort. While it’s not expected to keep them out for the Super Bowl by any means, it has limited their practice time and media availability in the most important week of their football lives.

Per James Palmer of NFL Network, “Chris Jones told me he’s under the weather. Congestion, sore throat. But said he’ll be fine. Seemed like a few #chiefs players were battling a little something today.”

That was on Wednesday. Considering the game itself is on Sunday, some bedrest is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Kansas City Chiefs flu game: How will it impact them?

If any players remain under the weather for the Super Bowl, it clearly won’t be ideal, as they won’t be playing at full strength. However, given the treatment available to Jones and others for major injuries, odds are the doctors have the necessary skills to help them get over a cold, among other things.

Who will win Super Bowl 57?

While the Eagles have perhaps the better overall roster, it’s tough to bet against the experience of Andy Reid and Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes should be fully recovered from his high ankle sprain by Sunday, which isn’t good news for Philadelphia.

Mahomes can change any game, regardless of the talent he’s up against on the defensive side of the ball.
