Rodgers’ journey this offseason has taken a plethora of turns, the most recent of which has been for the darker. The long-time Packers quarterback is currently in the middle of a four-day “darkness retreat” during which Rodgers sits in complete isolation and contemplates his future.

It’s definitely weird. It’s out there. But that’s what Rodgers has chosen to do before he makes a final decision on his NFL playing career.

Rodgers couldn’t leave without firing some zingers at Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter, among others, in a venomous anti-media tirade, denouncing the league’s most reputable sources and instead hitching his wagon to buddy Pat McAfee.

It’s a surprising turn of events for the Packers, who previously seemed amenable to Rodgers’ dilemma and open to reworking his contract if Rodgers wanted to stay in Green Bay.

Is this a total severing of ties between Rodgers and the Packers? There may be a thin thread or two connecting them, but after that latest report, all the higher-ups in the Packers franchise appear fed up with Rodgers’ antics and may simply want to move forward with a less controversial quarterback.

Who knows, when Rodgers emerges from the darkness he may suddenly have adopted a vigilante superhero persona and may devote the rest of his life to saving Green Bay from evil and corruption. From the looks of it, though, Rodgers is the corruption.
