Sauce Gardner, Breece Hall make hilarious Jets recruiting pitches to Aaron Rodgers

Could Aaron Rodgers be traded to the Jets? Sauce Gardner and Breece Hall sure hope so, as he’d immediately make New York a playoff team.

The Jets were one game out of a playoff spot last season, and they had Zach Wilson and Mike White manning the quarterback position. Safe to say, they should expect better next year, one way or another.

Jets executives have flown out to meet Rodgers on Woody Johnson’s private jet (yes, seriously) with the hopes of convincing the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback that they’d be his best option. That won’t be an easy sell, as Rodgers seems content on retiring and/or returning to Green Bay, should they let him.

However, Rodgers still has a few years left on his lucrative contract. If he wants that money, he’ll have to play. Why not try New York on for size?

You have to give the Jets some credit, they are pulling out all the stops. A private jet? The literal Jets players tweeting about him? It’s incredibly obvious who New York would prefer be their quarterback next season, and that man is not on the roster.

Sauce Gardner, the team’s star cornerback, offered not to intercept Rodgers in practice to hurt his confidence. That’s about as much as Gardner can offer — minus real money from his rookie contract.

It’s almost as if Breece Hall already knows Rodgers. The two would be instant friends, given his plea for help.

Hall and Gardner look like two Pro Bowl-caliber players desperate for a quarterback, and consistent winning, for that matter. That’s not something the Jets have seen consistently for a decade. The last time New York was successful and made the postseason, Mark Sanchez was their QB. It’s not exactly inspiring.

Winning with Rodgers could go a long way for the Jets and their young core. It’s a win-win, assuming Rodgers agrees.
