Look: Jalen Hurts in Eagles Kelly Green uniforms will have fans drooling over jerseys
Take a look at Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts donning the team’s throwback Kelly Green uniforms, which will return in 2023.
The Philadelphia Eagles fanbase has a lot to look forward to heading into the 2023 season. They narrowly lost Super Bowl 57, but saw quarterback Jalen Hurts put on the best performance of his young career on the grand stage. While the Eagles did lose a bunch of players to free agents, their roster is still strong, and they should be favored in the NFC, which has the easiest path to a Lombardi Trophy on paper. But, there is more for Eagles fans to get excited about.
At the NFL league meetings, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie confirmed that the team will be bringing back the throwback Kelly Green uniforms, which were a favorite among the fanbase.
The NFL recently posted an edited photo of Hurts and wide receiver DeVonta Smith donning the retro uniforms. Take a look for yourselves.

These uniforms were worn from 1985 until 1995. From 1996 onward, the team used the midnight green color scheme.
The last time the Eagles wore the popular uniforms was during the 2010 season. That all came to an end after the NFL limited each team to use one helmet. So, with the Eagles using their current midnight green color scheme, they stuck with that helmet.
But, starting in 2021, the NFL allowed teams to use a secondary helmet. While fans thought that this would mark the official return of the retro uniforms, Nike didn’t have the Kelly green color at their disposal for uniforms for the 2022 season. So, the Eagles opted to use a black helmet instead.
Now, it is confirmed that the Kelly Green uniforms will return. What isn’t known is when the Eagles will wear them during the 2023 season.
