Bottega Veneta’s Andiamo Tote Is the New Luxe It Bag
When considering new investments for your wardrobe, there are quite a lot of hero items to consider. Do I drop half a paycheck on a new coat? Is it time to think about replacing those year-old boots? Or, do I turn my sights to a new bag? This season, the answer is the latter. Bottega Veneta, under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, is leading the charge of stealth luxury. For the uninitiated, the quiet, minimalist trend boils down to understated, luxurious pieces that will stand the test of time (and hundreds of wears). Enter the brand’s newest bag for spring: the Andiamo. For non-Italian speakers, andiamo literally translates to “we go,” but is widely interpreted as “let’s go” and “come on!” And the namesake tote is made just for that.
Featuring the iconic intrecciato weave the house is known for, the Andiamo bag is instantly recognizable as Bottega, and features a metal-knot adornment clasp plus top handles and a crossbody strap for when you need to be totally hands-free. It’s made in a small, medium, and large size, for every variety of schlepping, as well as a muted range of colors, including the ultra-rich Fondant that borrows its color and name from dark chocolate Italian gelato.
Turns out, it’s also the favorite color of nearly every celebrity that’s been seen wearing the new tote around town, including Michelle Yeoh, RM of BTS, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Omar Apollo, and, yes, Jacob Elordi, who the internet collectively thirsted over as he was seen sporting the bag in Los Angeles, double-fisting beverages. The elevated accessory was the high-fashion antidote to his otherwise stereotypical L.A. bro outfit comprised of a casual sweatshirt, gym shorts, and sneakers. His outfit formula proves there is no time or place for true luxury, there is no waiting to break in that perfect bag with the perfect outfit at the perfect time. Because if you’re dropping this much on a designer bag (the smallest size clocks in at $4,100), the least you can do is honor that purchase and carry it up, down, and around town. Now, with that in mind, andiamo, ragazzi!
