Stetson Bennett IV’s first pitch at Braves game settles all arm strength questions
All questions about Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett’s arm strength have been settled after throwing out the first pitch at an Atlanta Braves game.
The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and as is the case every year, the focus is on the quarterbacks.
There’s a very high likelihood that there will be four quarterbacks taken in the top 10 in Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Florida’s Anthony Richardson, and Kentucky’s Will Levis. But there are other big name options that will likely be taken on the second and third days of the NFL Draft. One of them could be former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback and back-to-back national champion Stetson Bennett IV.
For those who questioned Bennett’s arm strength, he pretty much silenced them on Thursday. Bennett was on the mound at Truist Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Atlanta Braves game against the San Diego Padres. And he threw some absolute heat!

Maybe this will increase Bennett’s draft stock? Probably not, but kudos to Bennett on the throw, especially since other football-related first pitches like Travis Kelce’s didn’t go so well.
Bennett is going to be 26-years-old entering the 2023 NFL season, and stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 192-pounds. But, he has shown throughout his time at Georgia, especially these past two seasons, that he can play well in big-time moments.
This past season, Bennett helped lead the Bulldogs on a game-winning drive against Ohio State in the Peach Bowl, and the absolute blowout against the TCU Horned Frogs in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
This past season, Bennett threw for 4,128 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 68.1-percent of his passes. Bennett also ran for 205 yards and 10 touchdowns on 57 carries.
The NFL Draft takes place on Thursday, Apr. 27 and ends on Saturday, Apr. 29. During those three days, we should find out which team Bennett will be playing for in the NFL.
