'My neighbour is threatening to report me for letting my daughter play in the garden' – The Mirror

A mum is livid because her nightmare neighbour is accusing her of leaving her toddler ‘unattended’ in her own garden – she’s even threatening to report her
With sunnier days just on the horizon, many people are looking forward to harmer weather and sunnier evenings. Stepping into the outdoors – even if it's simply your garden – can easily help keep your spirits high.
Encouraging her little one to embrace the outdoors, a mum described how she keeps a watchful eye on her two-year-old daughter while she plays in the garden. Unfortunately, this hasn't sat well with the neighbours next door – who have threatened to report the woman's parenting.
Taking to popular forum Reddit, the mum sought advice on how she should deal with her neighbour who is claiming that the woman leaves her toddler 'unattended'.
She explained: "We have a sunroom and a fenced yard. During warm weather, I will hang in the sunroom and leave the door open for my toddler to hang in our fenced yard.
"Our neighbour noticed and shouted over to me, then ran to our door, claiming they thought toddler was unattended to. I explained, the sunroom door is open and I'm watching her, etc.
"This happened again today, except this time the neighbour mentioned she should call someone to report my neglect.."
Seeking advice, the mum questioned: "A. Does she have a leg to stand on? Am I seeing this as a non-issue when she's maybe too young for that? I feel like it's the same as sitting on the park bench while your kid is on the playground, except safer because it’s our own fenced home."
"B. How do I get my neighbour to f*ck off?" She added.
Since sharing, the woman's thread has raked in over 300 comments to date – where several Reddit users assured the poster that the neighbour was being unreasonable.
One person wrote: "Neighbour is going out of their way to harass OP [original poster]. This person sounds like an idiot with way too much time on their hands."
"Time to plant a privacy hedge!" A second penned.
