Ravens unlock ground attack, cap drive with Derrick Henry TD

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Baltimore Ravens closed to within 21-19 of the Buffalo Bills by getting their ground attack on track. Derrick Henry‘s 5-yard touchdown in the third quarter capped a drive in which Baltimore ran on six of seven plays.

On the two-point conversion, Lamar Jackson‘s pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage and fell incomplete. This continued a bad trend for the Ravens, who are 1-of-4 on two-point conversions this season.

In the first quarter, Jackson staked the Ravens to an early 7-0 lead over the Bills with a 16-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rashod Bateman, marking the second straight game that they’ve connected on a touchdown pass on the opening drive. Last week, Jackson capped the first series against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 15-yard touchdown throw to Bateman.

Baltimore has reversed its fortunes at the start of postseason games. The Ravens had totaled only three points on the opening drives of Jackson’s first six playoff games.

Now, on opening drives this postseason, Jackson is a perfect 5-of-5 passing for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
